Public Resource Centre

NTU CCA Singapore

Consisting of three platforms—a library specialised in contemporary art with a focus on Southeast Asia, the Artist Resource Platform and the Video Resource Platform (now available online!)—the NTU CCA Singapore Public Resource Centre provides local and visiting curators, scholars, researchers, students as well as the interested public at large, with a point of entry into contemporary artistic practices from Singapore and beyond.

Looking out onto the lush rainforest that envelops Gillman Barracks, the Public Resource Centre offers a quiet and inspiring environment for reading, studying, and writing.

Grown organically around the exhibitions and the main research projects (Place.Labour.Capital and Climates.Habitats.Enviroments), the Library’s collection features over 1800 publications related to contemporary art, curatorial studies, critical theory, architecture, urbanism, and environmental humanities as well as several art journals and magazines.

As a reference library, items in the collection can only be consulted in Centre’s reading room and they are not available for loans.

ARTIST RESOURCE PLATFORM

Containing reading materials contributed by over 100 Artists-in-Residence at NTU CCA Singapore and publications by independent art spaces in region, the NTU CCA Singapore Artist Resource Platform offers a broad overview of the artistic practices that have been nurtured through the Centre’s Residencies Programme. Not meant to be exhaustive, the Artist Resource Platform is in constant development and it provides a point of departure for the study of the contemporary arts ecosystem in Singapore.

VIDEO RESOURCE PLATFORM

Now available online, the Video Resource Platform features the video documentation of many public programmes organised by NTU CCA Singapore from 2013 to the present. The Centre’s public programmes pursue an expanded understanding of the complexity and diversity of contemporary art production and how it intersects with current developments in culture, society, and politics.
